Prints of my work can be purchased directly from my shop hosted on Etsy, as well as selected retailers on the Isle of Arran.
I have worked with a number of clients to compose and illustrate work to bring their vision to life. Clients include Isle of Arran Distillery, Boë Gin, Arran Ice Cream and Signal.
Isle of Arran Distillery
In 2018 In was commissioned to compose and illustrate the next 3 images for the Isle of Arran Distillery ‘Explorers Series’. The final illustrations are used on the bottle label, outer tin and metal relief panel. Watch this space for the next edition scheduled to launch in early summer 2020.
As part of the brief to design Boë’s latest range of gin liqueurs (see design case study) I created a new bespoke set of illustrations that were screenprinted onto the new bottles.
Arran Ice Cream
The re-branding of Arran Ice Cream put provenance at the heart of the brand (see design case study). The bold and vibrant, illustrated world of Arran Ice Cream invites you in, to tell the story of this home-grown tasty island treat.
I designed and illustrated the Annual Report for US non-profit, mutual organisation, Signal, from 2013-2016. Taking inspiration from a wide range of archive photography, and using a stripped back palette of colours, each year I created a set of illustrations to communicate the key messages from each part of the business.
Hello, I’m Catriona Tod. I’m a Designer and Illustrator based in Edinburgh. I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2004 and over the past 16 years I have delivered award winning design work during my time at leading design agencies in London and Edinburgh, and most recently as CTD Studio.
I have had a lifelong love for drawing, and my own graphic illustration style has evolved throughout my design career.
Inspired by early twentieth century railway posters I initially created a set of illustrations for our wedding invitation, and a few years later for my son’s christening, all based on locations on the beautiful Isle of Arran.
Since then I have been fortunate to combine my passion for design, illustration and Arran on a number of occasions, shown above in my portfolio. I continue to enjoy visiting and illustrating the landscapes of my favourite places.
